The Strand Restaurant is situated at the Victorian-style Strand Yangon hotel, located in the heart of the city. Its colonial charm is apparent in everything, from the rattan furniture to the chandeliers and the black-lacquered ceiling fans.
The Strand Restaurant features a beautifully restored dining room with a seating capacity for 45 guests, as well an intimate private dining room seating an additional ten guests. The menu features both modern European and classic French cuisine, seamlessly blending quality imported ingredients with the varied organic produce found in Myanmar.
A French native, Chef de Cuisine Xavier Fauvel was born in Normandy, and then moved to Nice in the French Riviera, a place which shaped his style of cooking. Chef Fauvel brings with him a flair for tasting and seasonal menus fusing classic French cuisine with the delicate spice of South-East Asia and influence from his extensive travels.
